Chiropractic Treatments for Back Pain
Welcome from the Las Vegas chiropractors of Complete Injury Management. We think you will enjoy this post, Chiropractic Treatments for Back Pain. Our goal is to treat patients who are affected by any type of injury.
Spinal and Manual Manipulation
Commonly known as a chiropractic adjustment, this is what most people call “cracking your back”. Las Vegas Chiropractors use a quick, short thrust against any vertebrae that are “out of place” to return them to proper alignment.
Mobilization
This treatment is aimed at muscles and joints rather than the spine. It involves a slower manipulation that consists of movements and stretching. The plan is to extend the range of motion.
Physical therapy treatments
Typical therapeutic treatments by Las Vegas chiropractors include certain types of equipment including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, traction, etc. The goal is to reduce back pain and inflammation.
•Exercise. There are any number of exercises that your chiropractor may recommend to increase cardiovascular fitness along with those intended to stretch or strengthen the muscles that support your spine and joints.
•Pelvic stabilization. Corrective heel lifts, or arch supports stabilize the pelvis and correct bad posture. Bad posture is one of the causes of back pain.
•Ergonomics. Depending on your daily activities, certain ergonomic practices are helpful. These run from proper lifting techniques to those for keyboard use.
•Patient education. A Las Vegas chiropractor will address certain lifestyle modifications, including diet and nutrition advice and useful coping strategies, with any patient suffering from back pain.
Since doctors of chiropractic do not prescribe drugs or surgery in their practice there are times when they will recommend these traditional therapies and refer patients to allopathic doctors.
